MARKET NEWS

Haddam Elementary School will be having their Hoe-Down this Friday beginning at 5:30 so things will become congested around the green and in Higganum center. Shop early to avoid the crowds.

We welcome new vendor this week, Shannon's Jammin' Jams! Shannon sells all sorts of canned goods, including Bacon, Jalapeno-Bacon, Caramelized Onion & Roasted Garlic, Banana, Blueberry, Cranberry, Fig, Strawberry, Cowgirl Orange-Chocolate, Margarita, Sangria, Citrus-Ginger, Lemon, Lime, Mango, Sugar-Free Mango, Habanero-Mango, Pear-Apple, Jalapeno Pear-Apple, Spicy Jalapeno Pear-Apple, Pumpkin, and Tomato-Basil.

Once again Chet's Italian Ice has a pint BOGO special for Pina Colada and Golden passionfruit. Other flavors this week will be lemon, black raspberry, pumpkin, and pear!

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. Avoid the rush and order your turkey from Gourmavian Farms.

One of our favorite market musicians, Bill Benson, wants to record his first studio CD. Please support Bill!

Stay tuned for an indoor market just before Thanksgiving.

About Us
The Higganum Village Farmers' Market supports local farmers and artisans by making Connecticut Grown farm-fresh foods and products available to shoppers on a weekly basis.

The market is held on the Higganum Green every Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. from the beginning of June through the end of October. Please review the calendar for specifics.

Buying locally conserves resources by reducing shipping and packaging and providing fresher food without or with less preservatives. Additionally, you help save valuable Connecticut farmland, which is increasingly being lost to residential and commercial sprawl.

Founded in 2008, the Higganum Village Farmers' Market began as a group effort of several Haddam residents to promote the center of Higganum and renew a sense of community.

The Market Board would like to thank the town of Haddam, the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, and Haddam/Killingworth Parks and Recreation for their cooperation and support.
